Spine with gilt title to gilt rule framed red leather to second compartment, gilt year (1619) at foot, two centered gilt floral devices to compartments three and fout, others empty, gilt rule to head and foot of spine. Refreshed marbled endpapersTitle page with minor chipping to fore-edge, early prior ownership in manuscript to foot of title page, not affecting text. Another prior owners (?) name to obverse of title page neatly in old ink. Lacking pg. 3/4 and final page of Index at rear with multiple pages mis-numbered, pg. 93/94 misbound after pg. 95, otherwise complete. Two final leafs with tape repair to closed tears. Small closed tears and dog-ears to several pg. fore-edges. This English translation is without illustrations. Bunting's famous work regards the Bible as a travel book of the Levant. The author himself visited Cyprus in 1579, an account of which is given at p.525.

From Wiki: Heinrich Bünting (1545 – 30 December 1606) was a German Protestant pastor and theologian. He is best known for his book of woodcut maps titled Itinerarium Sacrae Scripturae (Travel book through Holy Scripture) first published in 1581.
