"Catalogue of Surgical Instruments, Deformity Apparatus, Aseptic Furniture and Hospital Supplies" by Wm. H. Armstrong & Co., Fourth Edition, published circa 1901 in Indianapolis, Indiana. This extensive illustrated trade catalogue documents a broad range of medical and surgical equipment, orthopedic and deformity apparatus, aseptic furniture, and hospital supplies. Its thousands of drawings provide a fascinating visual record of medical technology and healthcare equipment at the turn of the twentieth century.

Quarto (6.75" x 10"). xxxi, 800 pages. Bound in full black cloth, with a white-lettered decorative title block on the upper board and a plain rear board. All edges are reddened. The dust jacket is absent. The spine is sun-darkened, with faded white lettering and decoration; the head and foot have tape repairs, and approximately the upper 1.5" of spine material is apparently lacking. The foot of the spine is beginning to fray, with less material loss. The binding shows edgewear, bumped and rubbed corners worn through to the boards, and light scuffing and rubbing. The upper and lower hinges are starting, with mesh visible, but remain securely bound. An engraved red AGNM Library bookplate is affixed to the front pastedown, with a Wm. H. Armstrong & Co. catalogue label directly above it.

An appealing historical reference for collectors of antique medical catalogues, surgical instruments, orthopedic apparatus, and the history of hospitals and healthcare.
