A 1580 Geneva edition of Cicero’s correspondence with Titus Pomponius Atticus and his brother Quintus, edited from the recension of Denis Lambin. The letters are among the most important surviving firsthand sources for the final decades of the Roman Republic, revealing Cicero’s private reactions to political crises, alliances, rivalries, civil conflict, family concerns, and literary work. The volume also includes the anonymous Letter to Octavius and Cornelius Nepos’s Life of Atticus, giving additional context to Cicero’s closest correspondent and the political world in which they lived.
