8vo.(5.75" x 8.25") Three volumes complete. Sangorski & Sutcliffe Signed Binding. Full burgundy polished leather with double gilt rule framing boards. Spines with five gilt decorated raised bands, gilt title and gilt vol#/date range to tan leather in second and third compartments, heavy gilt decoration to all other compartments, gilt year at foot. All edges gilt, Marbled endpapers with thick heavy gilt dentelles. Very minor edgewear to extremities, corners lightly rubbed, top quarter of rear cover lightly sun faded (see pic), first and last few pages with foxing, internally clean, otherwise FINE.

Max von Boehn (1860–1932) was a German art historian and prolific cultural writer known for his works on fashion history, theatre, and everyday life in European society, particularly through visual arts.

Dr. Oskar Fischel (1870–1939) was a German art historian and curator specializing in Renaissance and classical art, notably contributing to the study of Raphael and serving at the Berlin Print Room before emigrating due to Nazi persecution.
