Charles Elliott Fitch (1835–1918) was an American lawyer, journalist, and editor who practiced law in New York and North Carolina before becoming editor-in-chief of major newspapers such as the Syracuse Daily Standard and the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, later gaining recognition for his historical and biographical writings, including the Memorial Encyclopedia of the State of New York.
