From Wiki: Imre Henszlmann (Košice, 1813. October 13 - Budapest, 1888. December 5) art historian, architect, archaeologist, critic, writer, doctor, Member of Parliament, university professor, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He studied medicine in Pest, Vienna and Padua, then applied for art history and archaeology. In Vienna, the director of the mint, József Dániel Böhm, who was of Hungarian origin, introduced him to this discipline. In 1848 he became press officer of Pál Antal Esterházy in Vienna. In 1849, he was imprisoned for his participation in the revolution, after which he left for London and Paris. With the support of Napoleon III, his Théorie des proportions appliqués dans l'architecture was published in Paris in 1860. Returning to Hungary, he led the excavations in Székesfehérvár and Kalocsa. In 1862 Imre Henszlmann worked on excavations in the garden of the bishop's palace in Székesfehérvár. In 1874 the local episcopal see became vacant, and the Ministry of Religion and Public Education, on the recommendation of the Temporary Committee on Monuments, ordered the excavation to continue, which continued for seven weeks from August 18, 1874, under the leadership of Henszlmann. The remains found in the graves, mixed with those found in 1874 and 1882, were stored in six boxes, one of which has disappeared. Later, the "anthropological material" found on August 13, 1938 (unidentified royal, aristocratic and high priest bones thrown together) was locked in a concrete mass grave in the former moat of the castle in wooden crates in matchmakers. From 1867 he was the first lecturer of the National Commission on Monuments. He became a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1873. He wrote many studies and articles, and edited the periodicals Archaeological Bulletin and Archaeological Bulletins. Imre Henszlmann initiated the establishment of the former Rákóczi Museum in Košice, the successor of which is now the largest and most important museum in Eastern Slovakia.
