"American Eclectic Practice of Medicine," extended and revised at the request of the author, by I. G. Jones and Wm. Sherwood, published in Cincinnati in 1857 by Moore, Wilstach, Keys & Co.

Two-volume set. 4to. (6" x 9.375"). Bound in full tan calf with gilt decoration, four small spine compartments, and two leather labels, located in the second and fourth compartments.

Both volumes show substantial age and wear. The spines have severe rubbing and wear, including areas of tearing that partially obscure the labels; Volume II has additional tearing at the head of the spine. Corners are rubbed, with additional wear along the spine hinges. Previous-owner information and other handwritten notes appear on the first free endpaper. Slight staining and foxing occur throughout.

An interesting 19th-century American medical set, particularly relevant to collectors interested in eclectic medicine, alternative medical traditions, and the development of American medical practice.
