Edgerwear, corners bumped and rubbed, head and foot of spine ruffled with minor color loss, minor dampstaion to rear of Vol.I, foot of covers to Vol.II lightened (see pic). Extremities lightly rubbed, covers lightly soiled. Prior owners stamp to half-title page of Vol.I, some dog-earred corners to pages. Believed to be a first edition, this scholarly 2 volume set is heavily illustrated and contains folding plates.
