"La Plante Exotique" by Mathurin Méheut, with an introduction by M. L. Plantefol, published in Paris by Ch. Massin & Cie. in 1931. This large-format botanical art book celebrates exotic plants through beautifully produced illustrations, combining six leaves of text on the plants and the artist with 24 plates, 16 of them in full color. The plates were engraved and printed in héli chrome by E. Desfosses-Neogravure, as noted.

Folio (13" x 16"), bound with a brown cloth spine and corners over tan boards, with functional string ties along three edges. The upper board features brown lettering and a bamboo vignette; the rear board is blank. The spine bears white manuscript lettering.

Condition: The binding shows edgewear, bumped and rubbed corners, lightly soiled boards, and scuffed board edges with small areas of loss. The head and foot of the spine are chipped with some loss and beginning to fray. Despite these signs of age, the volume retains its 24 botanical plates, including 16 in color, making it an appealing addition to collections of French illustration, botanical art, and vintage natural history books.
