Binding
8vo.(5.25" x 7.5") Eight volumes complete. Full green cloth with blindstamped pair of birds centered to each upper board, gilt lettering to spine. Minor edgewear, corners bumpd and rubbed, several tips rubbed through with tiny loss. Top edge gilt, others deckled, black endpapers. Head and foot of spines ruffled with tiny closed tears. A couple of gutters starting with small splits to paper, still secure. Prior owners name neatly to first free flyleaf. Some small spots of foxing, heavier towards front and rear of text, occasionally within, affecting some plates with an errant spot here or there. Overall, not an overly fancy binding, but beautiful hand-colored plates within makes this an exceptional set of books.
