Half green pebbled leather with corners, blindstamp rule to all leather edges, over marbled boards. Spine with three blindstamp and gilt bands creating compartments, gilt author/titles to second compartment, a gilt bordered darkened "X" with centered gilt floral device, double gilt rule to head and foot. Top edge gilt. Spine leather sun-faded to a pleasing chocolate brown, top of spine chipped with small loss, affecting gilt (see pic), foot of spine with tiny closed tears. Sun-fade affects the leather to the boards as well (see pic). Edgewear, corners rubbed. Prior owner's name to front pastedown. Front hinge tender. Two novels bound as one with separate pagination. The Illustrated in the title above refers to a single image as the frontispiece (see pic).
