8vo.(5.5" x 8.75") 2 volumes. Half brown leather with generous corners over marbled boards. Spine with five gilt decorated raised bands, gilt title to second compartment, gilt author/vol# to the fourth, others with gilt rule frames, gilt year at foot. Top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Minor edgewear, rubbing to the rounded corners, leather rubbed in spots. Bookseller's notes in pencil to rear of first free endpaper. First and last few pages heavily toned, some pages unopened. No half-title to Vol.I. Both engraved title pages heavily toned, Vol.I almost illegible (see pic). Hand-colored frontispieces to both volumes with lighter foxing, mostly to margins. The four engraved plates within text heavily foxed with dampstain at fore-edges. Overall, a really good looking set of books with two beautiful hand-colored frontispieces.
