- 8vo.(5.25" x 8") Twenty-five volumes complete. Half green pebbled leather with corners over marbled boards. Sun-faded spine with gilt lettering and floral decoration, gilt publisher at foot. Top edge gilt, others rough cut, marbled endpapers. Edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed with a tiny loss to a couple of tips.Vols. I, X with small tear to head of spine with no loss. All volumes sun-faded to a pleasing brown at spine, the leather to all boards consistently sun-faded to all edges. A beautiful set of books nonetheless. Bookplate of Marjorie & Martin Mitau centered to front pastedowns. Twain's facsimile signature to attestation page preceding a tissue-guarded photogravure frontispiece to each volume. Every volume with 2 or more additional illustrations as well. Title page in red and black ink. A very attractive set of books for your shelves.
