Bound in full red cloth with gilt lettering to the upper board and spine. Illustrated with a photographic portrait frontispiece. Many pages remain uncut. The spine is lightly sun-faded, with fading gilt lettering, minor edgewear, and ruffled head and foot. The rear board has lighter staining near the head. Small spots of foxing appear along the head of the text block and on the first few leaves, including the title page and frontispiece. The original dust jacket is absent.
