Quarter polished tan 21st century calf over marbled boards with generous tips. The very handsome spines have 5 wide bands, a red label with gilt title in the 2nd compartments, black label with years spread and author in 4th compartment, 1st and 6th compartments have matching gilt horse head's, and 3rd and 5th compartments have gilt horse and jockey in action. Beautiful books! The gilt horse heads in the 1st and 6th compartments match the gilt horse heads on the bindings on the Famous Horses of the American Turf S.I. 5861. Vol 3 (1866-1921), has light dampstain to rear of volume, bottom of pages 190-249, not affecting text or images.
